I meant to update everyone about the book I’m reading Success Principles by Jack Canfield and Janet Switzer which is by far the best book I’ve read this year…

Lets get started with the Second Principle:

Be Clear why You’re Here

What were you put on this Earth to do?

Without a purpose in life, its easy to get sidetracked on your life’s journey. Its easy to wander and drift, accomplishing little in your life. But with Purpose, everything in life seems to fall into place. A great way to find your life purpose is to right down a statement of what you want to do or be in life. You must be really clear at what you want and have a great “WHY” behind everything you do.

Your Inner Guidance System is Your Joy

We were all born with an inner guidance system that tells when we are on or off purpose by the amount of joy and happiness we are experiencing. The things that bring the greatest joy are in alignment with our purpose. To begin to home in your purpose, make a list of the times that you have felt most joyful, love and alive in your life. What are the common elements of these experiences? Can you figure out a way to make a living doing these things in your life?

Staying on Purpose

Once you have accomplished and written down your life purpose, readi it everyday, preferably in the morning, if are creative or strong with visual, you may want to draw, paint or cut out pictures that represent your life purpose.

Do you Treat you Visitors with Respect?

If you are a web site developer, blogger and building web sites in order to monetize them, then it is important to keep the visitor in mind and treat them with respect and intergrity. Many web site developers do not respect their visitors and count them as a one time opportunity to grab them to make a sale. If you want to build a respectable site, here are some tips on treating your visitors the right way.

Many webmasters think that there is only one opportunity to sell a visitor so they bombard them with all types of advertisements once they land on the home page. This could possibly be the worst strategy around. Many visitors that land on a web page that is filled with 30 flash ads will leave as soon as they arrive.

Some web developers try to place Adsense click ads at the top so they click these ads to leave their site and pocket a few cents profit. While this is a legitimate way of using advertising, it may actually backfire for those people that are searching for actual information or would be interested in buying a product that is advertised on your site. Yes you can make a few cents profit from one Adsense click, but you can also sell a product for a few dollars profit, if the visitor didn’t leave so quickly.

Another tip is don’t use pop up ads or mouse traps. Everyone hates pop up ads. You can’t build brand loyalty with them. Mouse traps are web pages that the visitor can’t leave by back clicking out. In order to leave your web site, they must close their web browser. It just really depends on who your target market and people your advertising too. So if you want to build a clientele, treat your customers with respect and intergrity.

Benefits of Link Swapping to your Business

link_swapping.jpglink_swapping.jpgLooking for a great way to rank high on the search engines and draw traffic to your web site, link swapping is one of the best strategies to accomplish this goal. If you are looking for a high ranking web site or more visitors, here are some tips on link swapping.

Link swapping is pretty simple. Just find another web site and ask the web master if he or she would like to post your link on their site in exchange for you posting their link on your site.

Google and other search engines take links very seriously. In fact, Google in particular puts high importance on who and how many people link to your web site. The more important links and the higher amount of links that point to your web site, usually the higher your page rank climbs and this translates directly into more visitors.

One of the quickest ways to swap links is to join a link exchange. Link exchanges are very popular on the net and you can find dozens of great web sites to link to. You can also find a site that is similar in category and more popular than your site and offer to pay for a link on their web site. Paying for links is common as well, especially if your web site is new or doesn’t receive many hits per day. Paying for links depends on many factors, but usually costs $20 or more per month. If you are looking for a great way to increase traffic and sell more products, look to link swapping as a great way to accomplish these goals.
