Make sure your articles are checked through with no errors as it doesn’t look good on you if an article does appear with alot of typos. Once you have the article ready to go you can submit it to article directories. Article directories are where these articles are usually submitted and in turn the search engines usually pick these up. Many article directories will let you put a resource box at the end of your articles. This can have a little about you and what you do. Most of them will let you put in a url of your web site.

These resource boxes are important as people will click these on and head to your site which drives visitors to whatever you are doing or promoting. The more article directories that these articles you write the more traffic it will bring you. It doesn’t stop their either though. Ezine publishers are always on the look out for great articles and submitting them to these ezine publishers are always a good idea. The name of the game is getting your articles out their. Let’s get back to the resource box for a second. Web site owners will go to these article directories and if they pick up your article and post it anywhere they must leave your resource box intact. This means more traffic as your feeding off their web site traffic with that article. Articles can generate traffic so many different ways it’s a win-win situation for the article writer. It can also means other jobs for you.

As people see your articles on search engines and article directories more job offers could come your way. Articles are simple very low cost and if you don’t want to write your own you can hire it out usually between 5-10 dollars an article. if you buy in bulk the cost can be alot less. No matter which way you choose articles can give a boost to your business and help your bottom line. besides articles for the most part don’t take alot of time up and your rewards can come fairly quickly which is why more and more people are using articles to promote their business and themselves.

  • Helpful tips and tricks for your readers

Website Traffic: Making it Worth the Drive

Have you ever taken a long trip and once you got where you were going, instantly forgot about all the discomfort associated with your journey because “it was worth the trip?” You forgot about the heat or the cold, cranky kids, impossible traffic, and the lousy food because you were just so glad to be where you were going. Now, I’m not going to try to tell you that the people that go to your website have made a long trip, unless of course, they have a slow connection, but the principle is the same. If you don’t make it “worth the trip,” they’ll leave and they won’t come back.

We spend a lot of money, time, and energy on search engine optimization to make sure we are driving traffic to our websites. However, SEO can only do so much. Unless your site exists merely for the purpose of generating visitors as opposed to customers, you’ve got to offer them something compelling once they get there. There’s one thing you can count on and that’s competition. If visitors don’t like what they see at your site, they know they’ll be able to find what they’re looking for down the Internet street.

Take a few moments to think about your favorite sites. Why are they your favorites? What do they offer? If they are like most successful sites, whatever they offer, they offer it “fast” “fresh,” and “hot,” because, in most instances, that’s what people are looking for. It’s because we’re all spoiled rotten, of course. We want it now, we want it to be easy to get, and we want it to do what it promises.

If we’re looking for information, for example, we want to be able to find it quickly and we want it to be well-written. It must be up-to-date and factual also. If your site is peppered with grammatical and spelling errors, people who can’t spell any better than you can will take a hike. Why? Because, like most of us, they’ll assume if you couldn’t make the time and effort to present an attractive site, that whatever else you’re offering must be second-rate also. It’s just common sense and good business. Dust off your shelves and make your wares shine.

If your site has products for sale, have you listed all the specifications and presented a clear picture? Can I tell exactly what I’m getting, how much the shipping will cost, and how long it will take to arrive? If you’re selling furniture, for example, have you clearly spelled out your delivery methods? Don’t promise delivery without telling me “delivery” means curbside delivery only. While customers sometimes get disappointed because they don’t read the fine print or even the not-so-fine print, don’t complicate things by being less than candid. It’s crucial if you expect to obtain repeat, revenue-generating customers.

Make it worth the trip. Make sure your customers are glad they found your site and have a good time while they are there. They’ll remain customers and best of all, they’ll remain your customers.

Five Effective SEO Techniques Anyone Can Do

SEO, or search engine optimization, is often seen as a bit of an occult art. In many ways, it is more art than science. There are some SEO techniques that have a learning curve and require technical acumen to implement, but to begin with you can pay attention to these five important areas for simple but effective SEO.


  1. Page file names
    It has been shown that the site URL doesn’t matter as much for SEO as page file names. A page called mens-watches.html is more likely to be in a search result for a search using the keywords “mens watches” than a page with the file name womens-swimwear.html. Google prefers word separators such as hyphens “-” or underscores “_” to no separators at all. Having said that, site URLs do matter: luxury-watches-now.com/mens-watches.html would be better than anythinggoes.com/mens-watches.html. Create page file names that are important keywords and keyword phrases.
  2. Site subdomains and folder names
    If your site is, say, myaffiliatesalessystem.com, a subdomain would be something like adsensetips.myaffiliatesalessystem.com. Google really, really likes subdomains. It uses them in many of its own services such as Blogger and Google Pages. Site directories or folders can also be important in this regard, such as: myaffiliatesalessystem.com/adsensetips. The folder adsensetips has its own index.html page in it to act as a homepage for that folder. Note that these folders don’t have to be real folders on the web server. If you’re using WordPress, you never see a page extension appear in the browser’s address bar. All you see are virtual folders separated by slashes. WordPress sites have pretty good SEO “out of the box” (although it can and should be improved), and this is partly why. Create subdomains and folder names that are keywords and keyword phrases. Subdomains may be beyond the reach of an absolute beginner, but folders are easy to create when designing the structure of a website. If you’re using a blogging platform such as WordPress, your categories act like high-level folders.
  3. Title tags
    A web page’s title appears in the title bar (or tab) of a web browser. Google places a tremendous amount of trust in the content of title tags and uses them in SERPs (search engine results pages). If you want to see how many ignorant people there are when it comes even the most basic user needs being met–let alone good SEO–then do a Google search for the phrase “intitle:untitled document”. Create title tags that contain keywords and keyword phrases, and eliminate redundancy in your title tags, such as the name of the site on pages after the home page. Or, at the very least, put the name of the site after the keyword-rich page name.
  4. General page content
    The best advice you can follow for this is to create compelling content that people will want to consume, bookmark, share, and–most importantly of all–that causes them to convert. That is absolutely the most important thing you can do, period. To help it out a little bit, though, do be conscious of using several appropriate keywords in your text and variations of them. Don’t put text in images: it’s not crawlable by search engine spiders. Use structural markup such as headings, levels 1 and 2.
  5. Link anchor text
    Link anchor text is the words of a hyperlink. In HTML, hyperlinks are called anchors. Creating a hyperlink by saying click here, where the words “click here” are the anchor text is not good SEO. Creating a hyperlink that uses search keywords in the anchor text is far more effective SEO. So if the link were to, oh… say home biodeisel kits, then you want the words home biodeisel kits to be the words that people click on. Larger sites or blogs, which create a lot of content over time, benefit from a lot of internal links that contain carefully considered anchor text.


There is certainly much more that could be done with regards to SEO, but these five areas are so important and basic that if you’re not paying attention to them, you needn’t bother with anything else. A common piece of SEO advice is to create content for humans, not search engines. But that saying doesn’t provide a detailed description of how to accomplish the goal. If you look over the five tips above, you’ll notice that every one of them helps improve the overall experience of your site’s visitors. Another angle on this is that good web design and good content is also good SEO.
