I’m putting together to start off the new week. I thought that starting the week with empowering quotes and sayings will help not only me but my readers as well.

If a man for whatever reason has the opportunity to lead an extraordinary life, he has no right to keep it to himself.

Believe nothing. No matter where you read it, or who said it, even if I have said it, unless it agrees with your own reason and you own common sense.

Becoming an Internet Marketer: The Right Reasons

It’s easy to get caught up in the constant inundation of the thousands of dollars others are making every day, week, or month by working at home on the Internet. It sounds good anyway, and maybe we’re sick to death of working for someone else, however there’s something about being an Internet marketer we hear little about.

It’s hard work! Did you see that part in the sales letter that promises you can make thousands of dollars in a mere 30 days? Did anyone mention the sacrifices you’ll have to make, like not going to the grocery store until you make a sale? I doubt it. If you’re thinking of making this your livelihood, however, there’s one thing you’ll have to get before you’ll be successful.

You’ll absolutely have to get “real.” Before you become an Internet marketer, you need to ask yourself some serious questions and be prepared to come up with some serious answers. First of all, do you even like this type of work, or did you just fall in love with the dollar signs in all those sales letters you’ve read? While technology has made it easier and much cheaper to open an Internet storefront than a brick and mortar storefront, the work involved isn’t necessary any easier. You’ll still work backbreaking days, make tons of sacrifices, and wonder what the heck you were thinking.

However, if this is your niche, and you believe in what you are doing and actually enjoy it most days, then almost no amount of sacrifice is too much. You’ll be working hard to build something you may have dreamed about for years. You’ll do all the research necessary to launch the best website and/or storefront possible and you’ll be willing to constantly learn new things.

If you’re selling products, you’ve researched the market, you know your target audience, you’ve designed an optimized website and yet you’re still looking for ways to improve your business. That’s how success stories are made. Even after you’ve done all the work to have the best product and site available, you’ll then have to turn yourself into an entire marketing department and vigorously market your site to keep traffic moving. Just about the time you get it all figured out, it will be time to update your site and start the entire process over again.

Don’t forget, you’ll also be expected to do the work of an entire customer service department. You’ll need to handle customer complaints, be prepared to give refunds, answer questions and remember; the customer is always right. Are you ready for this? But then again, it’s Tuesday morning and you’re lounging in your hammock laughing at all the poor schmucks still putting up with your old boss. You may be working your tail off, but at least you get to decide when to give yourself a break.

There’s no doubt whatsoever that whatever sacrifices (within reason) you have to make to make your dream of being an Internet marketer come true are worth it. Being your own boss just doesn’t compare to working for someone else. As long as you know what you are getting into and resolve to do what it takes, you can enjoy the success you’ve always dreamed of.

Success Fundamentals - Principle 3 - Decide What You Want

map.gif

Principle 3 - Decide What You Want

Once you have decided why you are here, you have to Decide What do you want to do, be, have.

What do you want to accomplish in life? What do you want to experience? You need to plot your journey by having a timeline and you need to really recognize what success really mean to you.

As a child we were programmed to behave a certain way by our parents.

for example:

Don’t touch that! Stay away from there Keep your hands off that You don’t really feel that way You don’t really want that You should be ashamed of yourself Stop crying. Don’t be such a baby

As you got older you heard…

You can’t have everything you want simply because you want it. Money doesn’t grow on trees Can’t you think of anybody but yourself? Stop being selfish Stop doingwhat you are doing and come do what I want you to do!

Don’t Live Someone Else’s Dreams

After many years of hearing the kinds of words and sentences above. We started believing and living life a certain way and eventually lost the touch with the needs of our bodies and desires of our hearts and somehow got stuck trying to figure out what other people wanted us to do. Instead of focusing on what we really want in life.

I know when I was in high school my parents wanted me to go to college and take certain subjects like Physics, chemistry, Highest Maths classes which I didn’t excel in because I didn’t really want to do it… I was just trying to please my parents and in the end it backfired by me flunking most of my classes.

So how do you reclaim your true desires? How do you get what you truely want with no fear, shame or inhibition? How do you really reconnect wit your real passion?

You start on the smallest level by honouring your preferences in every situation no matter how big or small it is. Don’t think of them as petty. They might be inconsequential to someone else, but they are not to you.

STOP SETTLING FOR LESS THAN WHAT YOU WANT

If you really want to believe that you can get anything you want, you must stop saying harming words that you can embed in your mind like: I don’t know; I don’t care; It doesn’t matter to me; or what the flavor of the month from all teenagers and adults… Whatever. When your confronted with choice, no matter how small or insignificant, act as if you have a preference. Ask yourself if I did know, what would it be? if I did care which would I prefer? If it did matter, what would I rather do? By following what other peoples desires and not yours becomes a habit after consistantly doing it, you have to do the opposite to break that pattern.

Make an “I WANT” List

The easiest way to to begin clarifying what you want is by listing the following:

30 Things you want do 30 Things you want to have 30 Things you want to do before you die

Another technique to unearth you wants is to ask a friend to help you make ” I WANT” list. Have your friend to continually ask you what you want do for 15 minutes and see what you come up with. I actually did this exercise at a Tony Robbins seminar awhile ago. You’ll be amazed with list you come up with.

Is Worrying About Making a Living stopping You?

What often stops people from expressing their true desire is they don’t think they can make a living doing what they love to do.

People like Oprah Winfrey who loves to hang out with people makes a living by talking to people.

Tiger Woods loves to play golf.

Michael Jordan loves playing basketball before he retired.

For now just decide what you would like to do and I’ll update you with the following chapters of the book.

Clarify Your Vision of Your Ideal Life.

To accomplish this, you have to know two things -where you are and where you want to go. Your vision is a detailed description of where you want to get to. It describes in details what your destination looks like and feels like. To create a balanced lifestyle, your vision needs to include the following:

  1. Work and Career
  2. Finances
  3. Recreational and Free Time
  4. Health and Fitness
  5. Relationships
  6. Personal Goals
  7. Contribution to the larger Community

I thought Jack and Janet forgot to add another pillar… I will call it: 8. Spiritual

It doesn’t matter what religion or belief you have to, you need to go through your spiritual journey with the rest of the pillars.

At this stage in the journey, it is necessary to know exactly how you are going to get there. All that is important is that you figure out where there is. If you get really clear on the “WHAT” the “How” will be taken care of.

YOUR INNER GLOBAL POSITIONING SYSTEM

The process of going from where you are is like navigational system with GPS. For the system to work, it needs to know where you are and where you want to go. The navigational system figures out where you want to go and automatically takes you in that direction. When you type in a destination it plots out the fastest way or the perfect course for you. All you have to do is follow the instructions.

Success in life works the same way. All you have to do is decide where you want to go by clarifying your vision, lock in the destination through your goal setting, affirmation, visualisition and start moving in the right direction. Your inner GPS will keep you unfolding your route as you continue to move forward. In lehman’s terms, Once your clear on your goal and stay focus on your vision then the exact steps will reveal itself.

DON’T LET ANYONE TALK YOU OUT OF YOUR VISION

There are people who will try to talk you out of your vision. They will tell you that you are crazy and that it can’t be done… how do I know, well I get from friends and family until this day after I quit my job. They will laugh at you, tease you and criticize you. They call them “Dream Stealers”. DO NOT Listen to them.

I hope you enjoyed my summary.

Have a great week!!!

To your Success,

Carlo Selorio

Improve Your Thinking by Playing Chess

chess.jpg

One of my favorite past time games is the thinking man’s game of Chess. I was lucky enough to learn the game by watching my Dad and his friends play against each other. Now, I play with my Grandma to keep her preoccupied and get her brain thinking a lot better. Trust me, she still beats me and my brothers until this day!

Learn Chess and enjoy!

Considered the ‘king’ of board games, chess has been around for thousands of years. I’ve been playing chess from the age of 8 years old. It attracts people round the globe of all ages like magnets, including famous chess experts like Napoleon, Einstein, Nikola Tesla and Charlie Chaplin. And the game is well known for improving creativity, analytical thinking and judgment skills.

Nuts and Bolts

To get started playing chess, you can either head online to popular chess websites, or play offline with an 8×8 chess board made up of alternating black and white squares, and chess pieces: 16 white and 16 black. Both sets contain these pieces: a King and Queen, two each of Rooks, Bishops and Knights, plus eight Pawns. One player is called ‘white,’ the other ‘black.’ White starts, and the goal is to trap your opponent’s King.

The first dozen moves or so are referred to as the ‘opening’ phase of the game. Then comes the ‘middle game’ and finally the ‘endgame’, with only few pieces left on the chess board. Note that at any point in time, though, a game may end due to an unexpected move or incorrect move on either player’s part.

Basic Strategy

These general principles can be applied to the game of chess and to life:

  1. Development Like with any good venture, good development is needed. For example, just as in the entrepreneur arena where you generally cannot simply open up a business without having developed or purchases license to a product or service line (either yours or someone else’s) and expect instant success, similarly in chess you cannot just jump right in and expect to win without developing your opening moves first.

  2. Control Also important in chess as well as the world outside of the game, people constantly battle to take control of their central playing field. And while one person may indeed be in charge one moment, another may come along and bump that person out of center stage. It’s all part of the game, of chess, of life.

  3. Safety Keeping your main interests, like your king, safe is a goal. For example, a move called castling should be done as soon as possible in the game to increase the king’s safety. And likewise outside the playing field, people have specific steps they can take to help ensure safety like using a bank for deposits and transactions instead of stuffing money under a mattress and using cash for everything in business.

  4. Plan As the game of chess and life develop, people need to mentally develop a basic plan or strategy to succeed, and then strive to follow it, overcoming obstacles. Try to outthink your opponent and competition, and set out to win.

So join the experts and improve your thinking with chess. Improve your creativity, analytical thinking and judgment skills and go for a win!

To your Success,

Different Ways to Advertise on the Internet

advertising.jpg

One of the most important parts about running an internet business is to advertise. Whether you are selling a product, service or would like to drive traffic to your web site, you can use internet advertising to create demand. Here are some tips.

Internet advertising is growing extremely popular and necessary as more and more people create content websites for profit via advertising. When the internet first started out, many people would create personal interest web sites. Nowadays, anyone can set up shop, sell a product and receive payment with either Paypal or via credit cards. Internet advertising is more crucial than ever before. Two main ways to advertise online are Google Adwords and banner exchanges.

Google Adwords is one of the most innovative ways that you can reach thousands of potential web visitors instantly. Google Adwords is pay per click advertising. You create a small text advertisement that is either shown on Google’s search engine or on other affiliate web sites. If a web surfer sees your ad and is interested, they click it and are automatically brought directly to your web site. Google Adwords is very economical and can usually cost from $.05 to about $.50 per click.

Another great way to advertise your website is by using banner ads. Banner ads have always been a staple of internet advertising and today you can easily swap ads with other merchants. Creating a banner is usually very easy or costs only a few dollars and you can easily post others banners on your site while other businesses post your banner on theirs. While not as effective as Adwords, many people do see profit and success for this truly inexpensive way of advertising. If you are looking for a great way to advertise on the internet, take a look at the above suggestions.

Another way to advertise online is by finding the related websites to advertise your banners or your website link in. Many companies do this now to get instant traffic by piggy backing on other websites readership and following. A great example is non other than self confessed dot com mogul John Chow at http://www.JohnChow.com. He has got an enormous amount of readership and followers and capitalise this by asking people to advertise in his blog.

Google is dominating the online ads now and a lot of webmasters and publishers are benefiting from googles dominance but they are not the only place to drive traffic to your website. Make sure you test your way to find the right way to advertise on the internet and your internet business.

To your success,
