Expert Interview Series

First of all, before I introduce the next interview, I would like to thank everyone for all the help and support I would like to thank everyone who has been coming back and reading my interviews. I have tripled my traffic from the previous month and it can only get better with the caliber of Interviews I have managed to do. I’m very grateful for all the bloggers and internet marketing experts that have participated so far.

Today’s interview is one of the leading experts in blogging. He is ranked 6th in the Make Money Online blogs by 45n5.com with over 7000 subcribers at his blog: DailyBlogTips.com.

Introducing…. Daniel Scocco.

————————————

When did you first get involved with Internet Marketing/Blogging?

It was late in 2005. I started playing with the Internet much earlier, and even created small websites with Geocities (remember that?), but it was not until that year that I actually started playing with blogs.

My first one was on Blogger.

What is your greatest achievement so far?

I don’t have any great achievements, yet! Michael Arrington, On Malik…. these guys had great achievements with blogs.

A blog with 7,000 RSS readers is an average thing.

What’s the key behind your site/s?

Content. Sure you need promotion, a good design, networking and so on. But if the outstanding content is not there in the first place nothing else will work.

How is it unique?

Well I try to focus on original and useful information on all my sites.

What obstacles have you encountered?

The first 6 months are the hardest, because you need to work endlessly, for nothing. That was probably the main obstacle. It takes time to see the returns for your efforts.

What are your Three Top Tips for building an Internet Business?

1. Have a plan 2. Add value 3. Analyze and refine strategy

Did you secure any finances? If so how did you secure it?

I did not, all the money invested was coming from my savings.

Any advice for other start-up Internet Entrepreneurs?

As Guy Kawasaki puts it, make meaning before you make money.

Any advice for a traditional business?

I don’t have real experience with bricks and mortar businesses (apart working for a multinational company, but that is a completely different environment).

Your vision of the Web’s Future

I think that within 10 years or so the majority of Internet users will have their own domain name and websites. It will be a necessary thing if you are to stay connected with the rest of the world.

How will you stay ahead of the game?

Staying alert, analyzing the facts around us, and taking my own conclusions.

Who are your personal Heroes?

Mohammad Ali

What are your favorite sites?

Google, Wikipedia, The Economist.

What’s the greatest thing about the net?

It makes the world flat.

What’s the worst?

Sometimes it can make things too “virtual.”

What inspires you?

The possibility to do something that will improve or change (for good) the life of other people.

Final word to your readers…

Thanks for the interview, it was a lot of fun.

Its a pleasure to have Daniel give his insights in his thoughts and business. Please make sure you visit DailyBlogTips.com to learn more about blogging.
